Buy discounted gift cards for the stores you plan to shop at.
Sign-up for Price Alerts: Use sites where you can sign-up to be notified when an item is marked down or create a Pinterest board of items you want to buy and Pinterest will email you when the price drops.
Get an after-the-purchase markdown. If the item you bought goes on sale within the week or the month, many stores will pay you back the difference. Keep your receipts! Some retailers offer a price guarantee over 100% - that means if you find the item cheaper anywhere else, prove it to the retailer and they’ll beat that price. Earn cash back on purchases. Take advantage of websites like Ebates: shopping websites that allow you to earn up to 20% cash back on online purchases on top of retailer discounts.
Shop on eBay - for everything. I buy 90% of my clothing on eBay - most of it is new and 80% off retail.
Grab a promotional code. To find promotional codes, go to Google the name of the shopping site with the words “coupon code” or “promotion code.” Install the browser extension Honey to automatically find and apply coupon codes when you shop online.
Shop Safe. Be wary of ordering from a merchant that you've never heard of for a quick check Google the name of the site and "fraud" "scam" and do a quick search of to see if anyone else has reported a scam. Shop with companies located in the U.S. because you're protected by state and federal consumer laws. Use a credit card when you buy online since unauthorized charges of $50 or more are covered by federal law. Never use a debit or check card, which could expose your bank account to theft. An American Express Card will also cover you if the item breaks or if the merchant refuses to take it back within 90 days.
